Hi everyone,

I've been struggling with this for the last couple of days. As a precast engineer my object is to model the precast panels including the reveals. I've been reading about how to model the reveals and although the reveal feature is nice and easy, the major con's are that the line weight can not be control and which is even more critical for me is that you can not dimension the reveal (draft, flat, draft).If I am wrong, please let me know.

So I read that my other option is to use "face based family" to create my reveal, which I did but for some reason it doesn't cut the wall. Can some help me please. I am attaching the reveal family.

I am using Revit Architecture 2012|Windows 7 64bit

Simple.... you didn't cut anything in your family, that's why the family don't cut the wall, open your family, use the "Cut Geometry" tool, now select the void then the "box", load into project...
