Hi,Can anyone tell me if, when creating a door family, can the flip point and the origin point differ? It seems when the box 'defines origin' is clicked on the referance plane properties within the family, this defines both the 'flip point' and the 'insertion point' simultaneously.

For example: I would like the 'insertion point' of the door to be the hinged frame edge, although I would still like the door to flip from the centre when the 'flip control' is toggled within the project.

Any suggestions?

I don't believe they can differ since objects mirror on whatever is defined as their origin. You could forget the flip symbol altogether and make 2 doors in the same place (1 original, 1 flipped) and make them yes/no parameters but that seems a lot more tedious than just flipping the door as you have it, and then moving back into the correct place.
