Hey guys I'm doing an extension. The existing 2 gables were at the same height but now I am making one bigger so the

roof of the existing gabel will need to be built up to tie in. It nearly did it but no quite. Any ideas?

hi jamie,

two ways to do this that i can think of.

1) do it as 1 roof and just note on elevations extent of new, if phasing etc not an issue. this was easiest and quickest.

2) do as 3 roofs. 1st roof existing gable end, 2nd roof new gable end with valley and hip lines drawn in (without slope) as it overlaps existing 1st roof, and then the third roof being a triangular section to close off hip end of 2nd gable roof.

to get things aligned use side elevation, select triangular roof and move up to ridge of first existing roof.

hope all that make sense.

regards

mansell
