I am trying to control visibility of the roof/structure above in my first floor RCP. The general view range is set to cut at 7'-6", both top primary range and view depth are set to my second floor elevation with 0'-0" offset. In general I only want to show drop ceilings above the first floor however I have a couple specific areas I was attempting to use a Plan Region to show the upper roof/structure above. I have set the view range in these Plan Regions to have a view that extends to the Upper Roof elevation. A couple things are happening:
-The roof structure is displayed outside the extents of my Plan Region. It is actually overlapping another plan region that is set a couple feet lower than my first floor to show the split level ceilings in all one plan. It seems like if anything the plan region that has ceilings installed a lower level should conceal the structure above.
-When I remove the plan region all together the roof structure is not displayed any longer but the roof outline remains (similar to the extents described above).
Am I mis-using the view ranges or plan regions or is there some other setting in RCP's that I need to adjust in order to control what shows above the view depth plane? Thanks for any help on this!

I don't think Revit can handle overlapping plan regions .... but then I have never done that.
Perhaps you should be using the overhead lines or hidden elements as appropriate for the view.
Read this HELP topic: Changing Line Styles for a View Underlay
By using an underlay, you can add overhead or hidden lines for elements below to any view. "When you use a level as an underlay in the current view and use the Linework tool on the edges of elements from that level, the elements become part of the current view, and you can modify them."
