We are looking to duplicate our floor plan so we can add dimensions that are easily read. We need to be able to delete/hide the site in the duplicate without affecting the original floor plan. Another option is creating a duplicate of just the building itself without the surrounding materials. Is that possible?

Hiding elements is view specific. So if you hide things in one view it will not hide them in any other views.

You can duplicate any existing view creating a new view (with or without all 2D elements) or a dependent view. You can also pick the view pulldown and create a new floor plane (uncheck the "do not dupulicate existing views").
