Is it possible to Tag a Nested Family, and it's Host Family separate with two different equipment tags, and have both tags show up separately in a schedule?  For example,  Can I insert a family with 2 nested families into a project, then apply three tags with three different values and have it schedule that way?

Sure ... the nested family has to be set to shared.

From your HELP:

"

shared family

A family of model elements that can be used to create subcomponents of a nested family.

When you use shared families to create a nested family, you can select, tag, and schedule the individual subcomponents in a project. (If subcomponents are not from shared families, Revit Architecture treats an instance of the nested family as a single item for selecting, tagging, and scheduling.)

See also nested family. For more information, see The Families Guide."

Can I bump this one?

Here's what I've got. I have a family that has two nested families in it. I don't want the nested families to show in my schedule. So what I did was - Edit the family, then edit the nested family. Change it from Shared to Not Shared and load it back into the family it is nested in. I got the message "Can't load family because a shared version already exists." How can I get it nto shared without deleting and reloading/rebuilding the family?

In the host family, edit the name of the nested family.  Now it will load.
