When I import DWG files, can I keep the layers that were established in the CAD software? Or does it flatten out and can only be differentiated by line weight - but still one layer?

Many thanks

JLB

Try it, see what happens.

"Try it, see what happens." Whats the point in that response, this is a forum to help people.  When you import from CAD you can specify what layers you want brought into Revit.  You can also specify the color of the lines to be invert, preserve or black and white.

Actually the try it answer I think is a great answer.  Most of Revit learning is trial and error.  If the poster had tried it, he would have answered his own question.

none of you answered the question.

The question is - are the layers still kept. Not the lines. We know the lines are imported that's obvious. But the layers?

There are no layers in Revit - never have been.
