This is a little hard to explain so see attached jpg. I need the window to cut just the brick wall back 2". How can I do this. It will not let me do a void and an opening in the window family. I would like to do it in the family becuase it needs to be on all the windows in my building and to use filled regions (like in jpg) would take forever! Thanks

Delete the cut opening then you will be able to create a void in the wall. You cannot have both a cut opening and a void in the family host (wall). Not sure why, it would be nice if we could. Post edited on 2005-12-13 12:23:37

yes it's the void and the opening, the reason you don't have both is so Revit won't get confused about which one to use... Smile

Thanks it worked perfectly. I just never thought to delete the opening and use a void.
