Hey guys been playing around with this for a while now and I'm not sure how to fix it. as you can see from the pictures.

When I choose extend to core (so my roof pitches from the stud wall and not the brick) it works fine for the house but

when I try do extend to core on the garage walls (single / Double brick) there is a problem and either it doesnt cover all the

brick or it puts it at a different level from the house roof. Is it something I change in wall structure?

Thanks.

Bring your your outline to the exterior face of your wall.

Then the problem is that the wall is not extended to core and then the section will be wrong.

This house doesnt have eaves so I do extend to core then add 150mm for eave (to cover brick and cavity)

when I get to the garage single brick wall because it doesnt have the same overhang as the wall is a different thickness

and has a differnt wall core it doesnt work....

This is what I mean. You can create a level and just attached the top of wall to that level if in case your wall does not attached to the roof.

Can you do that with a brick veneer wall and cut a section to see if it is pitching from the stud and not the brick? Cause

that is my problem if i just draw around the edge.

You have to attach the walls to the roof. The one on the right is attached and the one on the left is not.

It wont allow me to attach the walls to roof as it looks like the "right" one in the picture.

If I just draw a line around the edge then it does work fine...but in section it is wrong and will pitch off the brick work

and not the stud wall like it is ment to. Thats why I need to extend to core so the section is correct

The core will extend to the roof if you attach the walls to the roof. I'm not sure if the image I uploaded was visible in my last post.

yeh that worked. I did entend to core then allined the lines with the outside of the walls. But still a problem with the roof

line. As there is a garage with single brick and piers im guessing that is the problem. I will attach some pic links for you

to look at. Also you pic didnt load. I use Jing.

I think its to do with the wall core. As there are 3 different types of external walls which is causing the problem....anyone

got any ideas?

You have some strange roof conditions shown there.  Take a good look at your offset form roof on all edge sketch lines and recheck your slopes.

gday jamie,

did you try swapping out walls , do your roof, then change walls back to single leaf etc.

it works for verandahs with no walls only piers.

ie put in temporary walls to help revit work out the roof with consistant pitching points etc,

then swap out your temporary wall with required wall as required.

cheers

mansell

hey mate, awesome idea I didnt think of that. Unfortunatly didnt work because the house has no eaves and when we change

it back to the single skin brick wall then it has an overhang.
