Stair nosing shows in section, 3d and elevation ... but not in plan. What do I do to make it show in plan?

Are your stairs not showing at all?  Can you show a pic of what is happening.  Make sure your visability graphics your stairs are checked on.

Actually the nosing probably IS showing in plan but it's wonkie.

See image.

Try using reference planes to show where the linework is. Then compare the plan to the section.

Stairs definately have their issues as far as creating an 'accurate' facsimilie of what really would be the stair.

Specifically when you 'end with riser'. Look at the top of the stair and compare the plan to the section.

There are weak work arounds.

The monolithic stair works much better.

Are you looking for the line of nosing as hidden on plan?

You mean the hidden riser line doesn't show.  The edge of the nosing is the tread edge and Revit will not show the hidden riser line.  If you want that, then you will have to add it.

Not the hidden riser line.

I selected the "Apply nosing Profile: Front, Left and Right" in the type properties. No show on left and right in plan.

Sorry, no nosing will show left, front or right on plan view.

Stairs have a few flaws.

No doubt about it. . . . . and no changes / improvements in 3-4 years at this point.

The first thing I tell my students is "Do not get caught up in stair and curtain wall details".

REVIT has some short comings in those areas that may or may not ever get addressed.
