Some one needs to create IVY that is crawling up a wall. It should be plant type where you can see the wall material behind it. Even more beautiful, if it were parametric to adjust height and width of the IVY coverage.

THE TRICK TO THIS IS TO DOUBLE CLICK ON THE IMAGE IN THE MATERIAL EDITOR TO OPEN UP A WHOLE SET OF DIALOGUES, INCLUDING "CUTOUTS", WHICH, IF YOU REVERSE ENGINEER A CHAIN LINK FENCE MATERIAL, ALLOWS LIGHT TO PASS THROUGH A MATERIAL BASED ON WHAT IS BLACK ON YOUR IMAGE, E.G. YOU WILL NEED AN IMAGE AND ITS NEGATIVE (TO DEFINE NEGATIVE SPACE).  YOU WILL NEED TO PUT YOUR MATERIAL (IVY) INTO PHOTOSHOP TO MAKE A NEGATIVE IMAGE OF YOUR MATERIAL AS THE CUTOUT.  HERE'S ONE I DID
