Does anyone know how to show pieces of a beam system as demolished in the new construction phase? It appears as if I can only demolish the whole system.

I guess, you draw 2 beams and join them together. Draw one in one phase and the other in another phase.

After a quick test it does appear that you CANNOT demo a beam within a beam system. Even using the TAB key to select the beam.
Even if you UnPin the beam  which allows some movement but unfortunately no demo).
You'll have to 'Remove Beam System' which basically explodes it into individual beams.
Then you can demo.
