Is there any way to change the "value" in a color scheme once it is created?
for example, I have an existing building and we are showing the "level" of renovations throughout the building: i.e. 1, 2, 3. I have all of the areas defined but now would like to change the value to say 1-Minor, 2-Moderate, 3-Major. Is there a way to do this without creating new values and then having to go and redefine all the areas on the plan? Why can't I just go into the "value" column and change the wording?

Your HELP file is a great resource. Under: Modifying a Color Fill Legend
To change the legend title

Thanks for your reply - however it does not answer my question (neither does the "great resource" HELP menu)
I do not wish to edit the Title. I wish to edit the Value

I assume this is a room color scheme. That value is the value you placed in the room parameter called "RENOVATIONS" . Change it there.

no, you still aren't understanding. see the image I attached? I entered a VALUE that said "Level 1" and created a color scheme, then selected each room that I wanted to be at "Level 1". But now I want it to be "Level 1 Minor Renovations". So I want to just edit (UNDER THE VALUE column) "Level 1". But instead, I need to create a new value and call it "Level 1 Minor Renovations" and then go back to my plan and re-select each room and change it to the new value.
Does anyone else out there understand or have run into a similar problem? is there no easy way around it?

No, I don't think you understand. "Value" is just the content of parameter that organizes this schedule. Post an image of your room properties.

ok, here it is.
Suppose I had misspelled "minor renovations". It shows up in my legend. What if I want to change that? I CANNOT. I have to go into the "edit scheme" and create a new VALUE parameter with the correct word, then go and select the room on my plan that needs to be changed and select the new parameter from the element properties. I don't want to do that, I simply want to be able to click on the parameter within the edit windo and change it.

put another way, how do I EDIT the content of the parameter once it has been entered? I can Add new ones, I can organize their order, I can change the color schemes... but can I EDIT THE ACTUAL TEXT OF THE CONTENT PARAMETER????

As I posted earlier "That value is the value you placed in the room parameter called "RENOVATIONS" . Change it there. " Click on the room in the floor plan and edit the room properties!

Same dilemma using Revit 2013. I wanted to rename the word "Epoxy" to "EPOXY". I already assigned Epoxy to a lot of rooms and I don't want to go back and redo them. Is there a better way?
