I have downloaded files to revit but it wont allow me to put them in my drawings? we can put them in by accident but they are .jpg, but all the ones that are .rvt files we cant put it in. what do we do?

are they the same or lesser version of what you are using?

A jpg is an image file.  You can place that on a sheet using the insert command, or you can use it in a decal.  It is not a revit family and is really not usable as a "drawing" element.

your question is kind of unclear. Sounds like maybe your trying to Import some Revit Families but you what you need to do is Load them.

Under the 'Insert' Tab. go to 'Load Family'. Then find your family.

Under the 'Home' Tab. go to 'Component' and your family should appear in the drop down.
