Our company recently created a new elevation marker to use in REVIT that does not occupy the space that the default REVIT elevation "bubble" encompases.  I've tried to "Load" a new component, both from the "Home" tab and the "Detail Components" tab, and each time, REVIT gives me a warning that it cannot load.  Any suggestions to bringing in this new symbol to a current project?

Thanks,CB

Ah... I think you may have answered your own question.... "Any suggestions to bringing in this new symbol to a current project? "... That would be symbol tab ...

maybe try modifying the existing one and reload it to match what you are looking to create?

Since 2011, loading families has been an issue for many users.  A couple of ways that get past these problems are:

  1. If possible - load into your template - << For normally used elements
  2. Open the family at the same time you have the project open and pick load into project.
  3. Click on the family in one project - copy to clipboard and paste in the new project.

2 & 3 always work but you still have to be in the right command sequence to use the elements.  When you use 2 0r 3, you can verify the items exist in your project by looking for them in the proper location under your project browser - family area.
