the Link panel is disabled in the family creator. It would be great to make components with attached decals, to make good looking objects for rendering in the project.

I deleted your other thread because your answer is here.  You can not place decals in families.  You can place them in the project and group them with the hosting family.

Hi There,

You can insert decals into familys if you create and apply them as custom material, duplicate a material with an

Image Patters say Tiles, ensure you store decals in a  common folder path with anyone you are sharing darwings with.

Here is an Example of the decal I used for this Phillips MP70 Clinical Monitor (inside a Family .rfa) you have to be carful

choosing tilling and scale when doing this with materials inside familys a bit of trial and error, there are good editing

options for materials to get placment on the object right.
