Too often, when I have two walls that are very close to each other, Revit assumes it just knows how I want to intersect them and refuses to let me drag the wall end to where I need it.  I try overriding and using the Wall Joins command to no avail.  What is the appropriate method for handling this?  I'm using Revit 2012.

In the attached image, the highlighted blue wall is supposed to touch the adjacent aligned wall to close the gap (so it can eventually be joined), but the perpendicular wall is not allowing the connection.

If you want to get technical; I have split the wall in two so that the bottom of the porch soffit wall does not have its base attached to the roof like the adjacent wall that extends over the roof.  I'm sure we could get into a discussion about my approach in the first place, but I don't want to get away from answering my first question above regardless.

Your problem is the wall is attached to that roof and is defined as tall as your other roof.  Not sure what height the wall continues as but look at my image.  I set the wall height at the bottom of your beam and allow the other portion to go on up and attach to the low roof.  If this wall beyond the beam needs to be attached to the high roof, then split the wall vertically at the T intersetion in plan.  If you get a line in elevation, you can use the wall join function.

Thanks for the tip. The configuration that is modeled is slightly different from what you show, but I think the same idea applies and I think the heart of the matter is that there are numerous bases and tops attached at different points which can be confusing for Revit.  I'll need to go back and check the default unconnected heights too.  Another workaround is simply to modify the wall in elevation usin the Edit Profile command.

Be careful with the edit profile because it can really mess up wall joins sometimes.  Rather than edit profile, I will split a wall horizontally where upper and lower portions have to join to different perpindicular walls.
