For some reason, when i use the dimensioning function, I click on "aligned" and it only gives me an "up-down" or "left-right" axis ( when I am looking at the page) to measure from instead of a point (for which I can make angled dimensions). I thought that was only for linear dimensions. Why is my aligned dimensions not working at angles? Many thanks, deeply appreciated.Joseph

It works for angles.  Are you starting with an elemental line at that angle?  It sounds like you want to do point to point.  To select a point, use your tab key.

that's the thing - the tab key is giving me ONLY horizontal and vertical. No points. That's the weird thing.

It's one of those maddingly frustrating things. It just won't become a point so that I can do a point-to-point measurement.

Many thanks

This is a process problem - not a program malfunction.  For dimensions (not measurements) at an angle, from a point to a point, you have to tab select the point - AT EACH END!  Otherwise, it assumes you mean that line you are pointing at.

When you do select a point, you will see a tiny blue dot.

You're absolutelyl right. It was a TINY blue dot - which I missed. That was why. I finally got it to work.

Hopefully this thread will help others with the same mistake.

Many thanks, and deeply appreciated.
