Hi

I would like to model some free form as the picture shows.

I can do it with picking different shapes of lines in "conceptual mass" mode or "mass" in family mode.

However I can't do it in "generic models" or "structural framing" in family mode.

Then it seems any kind of free form can't be scheduled as structural framing or others ......

Seems it's not possible to use extrusion, blend, sweep to do it.

How come?

Thank you

Thank you

In "Family mode" first you select what you want create (e.g. Extrusion, sweep, revolve...) then create the shape.

In "Mass mode" you create the shapes then select them and click on "create form".

Hi Typhoon

Thank you for your reply.

But it's not possible to model "free form object" in family mode with extrusion, sweep, revolve...

For example, I need to model a tunel inside a mountain, and this tunel contains varied slopes in section and also curves in plan. It's easier to do that in Mass mode, but then I can't edit that tunnel and schedule it after finishing.

Do you have any trick to model it in familly mode with those extrusion, sweep .... commands?

Thank you very much

"For example, I need to model a tunel inside a mountain, and this tunel contains varied slopes in section and also curves in plan." - Create several "Blends" or "Swept Blends" to create that tunnel in the right category like you want.
