Hi Guys,

I am having trouble with recessed can spotlights in Revit, they apply in the model fine; when I attempt to render the scene they do not appear to be showing.

I have checked the obvious things like if the lights are on in the render section, artificial lights only etc.

I edited the family quickly and noticed that the 'Tube' for the light to pass was a void extrusion, I went to the trouble of extending this further past the reference plane but that didn't even help in them penetrating the ceiling.

Is this an issue with linked files? Do I need to add the fittings to the architectural model and not the MEP system model. I modified the ceiling from 'Compound' to 'Basic'  but that didn't change much.

I ended up moving the light source down a little and it has now shown some light, albiet not very nice.

The light obviously does not cut the ceiling and that would be true if the ceiling is in a linked model.

Hmmmm WWhub can you bind in a ceiling from the architectural model? Looks like Im going to have to delete the ceiling plans and start again. :-(

Why not just copy the ceiling into your model and have your lights hosted in it, then turn off the linked files ceiling.
