I am trying to place a window on a 100mm wall and am getting the following msg: Can't make type "UK_Mdrn Casemt - Plain Sgl : 900 x 1350mm Deep 3". I figure the wall is not thick enough to place the window. If this is the case could someone let me know how to reduce the thickness of the window so it would fit, or let me know if there is something else I am doing wrong.

it might just be that your wall is not tall enough for the designated sill height of the window....check your window properties to make sure the sill height (and therefore the window) falls within the height of your wall. HTH

No Id ont think it is. It seems fine. I replaced the wall with a thicker cavity wall and it works fine so there is something wrong with the thickness I believe. Do you know how to change this

Nathan, you will need to open up the window family for editing and look at all the parameters. Start in settings, family types and work your way from there. The window family may have been created with one default that does not suit a wall below a certain thickness ?

You can cut and paste the wall type from your project browser into the window family editor to work with it and make corrections in the family. Once you paste it into the editor you need to select the wall then make the change.

In the family select the wall and got to its structure and change its thickness to the same in your project. At this time you'll receive a number of constraint errors. This is why the family isn't working in the project. Try to unconstrain these items and amend so you can flex the wall thickness without errors. HTH.
