I am finding this extremley frustrating that whenever I bring a new reference file (Revit or CAD) into Revit it automatically remains ON in EVERY view. This is totally detremental to the production of document sets when i have to go back through each view & re-assign the view template.

Can we please CHANGE the reference insertion so that the reference file ONLY appears in the view it is inserted into.

Anyone else find this an issue?

When importing CAD files, you can specify to import into the current view only.

Thanks, someone else just pointed out the Autocad feature as well.

How about Revit though? Do we want to see the model appear in every view then have to go through and adjust our view templates for every type of view. Seems lke a lot of work when Autodesk COULD simply add the same tick box and allow users to choose if they want the model to appear throughout the diocument set.

I don't understand that question.  Are you talking about linked Revit models?

View templates and worksets work very well to control linked models.
