I have created an existing building which we are adding an addition onto and the first floor level is set at 100'-0", I have toposurface information in autocad that I just want to trace so that it somewhat resembles what is there.  My problem is that the toposurface that I have starts at 637' at the building dropping to 633' to the next elevation.  Is there a way to coordinate the building elevation at 100' with the 637' start so that I dont have to put my point in as -4' for my first point and having to keep subracting everytime i put a point in?  I know its a confusing question and hard to explain but I hope I got it.  Thanks!

If you have the site in autoCAD, why not learn how to bring the topo directly into your project in model format?

Read up in your HELP on how to set your project's location.

NOTE:

Elevation Base If the elevation base value is set to Project, the elevation reported on a level is with respect to the project origin. If the base value is set to Shared, then the elevation reported is with respect to the shared origin. To change the shared origin, you can relocate the project.

In other words, your project elevation base might be 100 but true elevation can be different.

Can you please explain or would you mind telling me where there is a tutorial I can watch to do this. I used to (barely) know but have been away from comuters and Revit for over two years and have forgotten some things. I know how to import countours from ACAD and generate a topography from it but I cannot find a/ the tutorial on how to associate the building model with a specific countour elevation. Maybe this seems like something very basic to you but since I used to only work on very few projects each year and none in the last two, this is one of those things that can be forgotten fairly easily.

Thank you.
