I've made a wall (400mm concrete) and a floor (400mm concrete + 100mm finish). I make a section of the wall through the short axis  perpendicular to the wall) and join the wall to the floor. The 100mm finish is correctly interrupted by the wall.
However, when I cut the wall in the length axis, the join doesn't clean up: the wall stops at the finish! So I now have a concrete wall standig on a carpet.
I did an extensive search for this problem, but I'm unable to find a solution (this could be due to not using the right key words). I hope somebody can offer a solution or redirect me to a previous forum post/tutorial.
Kind regards,Pieter

Did you "Join" only that wall (I make a section of the wall through the short axis perpendicular to the wall and join the wall to the floor) to that floor OR you selected ALL Walls in that level and join to that slab?

Pay attention to the layer values in layered elements. A 5 wall finish will not join with a 4 wall finish. You can read about these in your HELP.

I'm afraid I didn't explain clear enough. Let me try again:
The join does work. When I cut the wall with a section perpendicular to the wall, the join cleans up nicely (finish layer is stopped). However, when I cut the same wall with a section plane parallel to the wall (and which runs through the centerline of the wall) the finish layer continuous under the wall!
We're talking about the same wall here!

I've heard from somebody that the join function is just a 'visual tweak' and revit does not really connect the two items? Maybe this visual tweak doesn't work when one cuts the wall parallel to it's length axis?

What apparently is happening is since the core layer is not complete, it is not there to cut the finish. That might be true and I don't have a fix.
I don't know why you would be looking at the inside face of a wall .... but ???

Our walls are prefabricated concrete panels. They have a curved top (attached to a curved roof). The contractor wants sections through the core of the walls...
On the other hand, sections through the core of a wall happen often in our office. Many walls are set on a grid line, and most sections are also on a grid line...
Anyhow, I appreciate the help WWHub!
