I am attempting to model an irregular shaped roof. The shape is irregular in plan and sloping in one direction only. I have attempted using the roof command and adjusting sub elements as well as modelling the roof as an in place mass and translating it as a roof.

the roof slopes from the front to the back at a constant angle. Can someone suggest the best method for modelling the shape? It would be most appreciated as i am running on empty.

Try this;

Model use the roof by footprint tool.

In plan, draw the outline of your roof footprint by using the select tool and pick all of your exterior walls (see image 0)

Before finishing the sketch, select each boundary line and uncheck "Defines Slope", EXCEPT for the for the line from which you wish to be the high point of your roof slope (see image 1).

Select the line which you have given a slope, and in it's properties change the slope to a negative value (i.e. -1"/12")

Finish your sketch. The roof should look like image 2.
