in your titleblock family, create a new Revision Schedule. You can then stretch the schedule to have as many rows as you want.

thanks absolute BIM - but I am actually after a way to show revisions on my title blocks that arent linked to revision clouds & show up on every page - my list of revisions might be:
concept plan # 1, concept plan # 2, Preliminary plan # 1, Preliminary plan # 2,Preliminary plan # 3, working drawings # 1, working drawings # 2.....
so i am hoping to create new catergory parameters in the edit label mode withing the title block family editor

That is still possible with the standard revision schedule. If you go to the sheet properties there is a Revisions on Sheet parameter that will allow you to select which revisions you want to show up on a sheet, no messing around with rev clouds. That'd be that simplest method, IMO.
Of course, you can do what you are suggesting, but every time I've seen it done it turns out to be a mess. You end up with either a massive list of unused parameters, or you create and add new parameters every time you have another revision. If you go this route, read up on shared parameters. You're going to need to make a whole lot of new ones.

Your on the right path, in your titleblock family, when you create a new label, the "edit labe" box pops up. In here, hit the "add parameter" box. Once you've created all your labels, load into your project.
Once back in your project. You'll have to create the shared parameters which are connected to your titleblock parameters. As TKennedy mentioned, you'll have to read up on Shared Parameters, its too complex to explain properly in a forum post.
