Hi all,

I've been wondering this for a while now but never thought to ask. I have a couple of questions really

I've created a custom profile for a mullion and added parameters to it e.g. length, width etc.

1st question: is there a way I can create a new mullion family type which allows me to alter type parameters? regardless if not I've been loading it into the standard rectangular family (the only one that isn't a corner mullion)

2nd question: if the first answer is no, is there a way i can gain access to the parameters i have created in the profile, when i go to the family tree for profile all of the parameters are listed in the properties but are greyed out and uneditable. Currently I've been loading up the profile from file and having to edit it there, basically making the parameters pointless?

Hey sorry I've sussed out the greyed out problem, just a simple right click and edit type properties did the trick, my first question still stands though, It would be nice to be able to create my own mullion family instead of having to list it under one of the system families which makes no sense, and of course for some reason it doesn't let me change the profile parameters.

I can add Type parameters to CW Mullions - See attached.

System families like stairs / railings / curtain walls - use special routines so obviously, they limit what you can change so they DO make sense.  If you want something different, you can create an add-in app that will do what you want.

where is that menu you shown, heres what i get when i go to parameter properties for mullion profiles.

i wouldn't know where to start to make an add-in app, would like to know though.

The menu I showed is project level added through the manage tab.  Obviously those parameters can not control the mullion but they are good for any special identification needs that may need to be scheduled or reported.
