I have been having the same issue. I have discovered that issue arrises when the wall profile has been edited. This happens in all my elevation.
I have tried everything from
- No view Template
- Creating A reference plane for the wall top to be hosted with the same result
- Creating new elevation
The Only solution I have found to work is creating a Mass then creating a wall by face however this does make it hard to manipulate when changes are required.

Prelude,
It turns out that I had a CAD file imported somewhere WAY off into space. It makes absolutely no sense, but this can cause your walls in elevations and sections to be transparent. It turns out it was really a pretty simple fix. Here is what I did: 1.) Went to default 3D view. 2.) Zoomed to Extents. 3.) Selected All. 4.) Opened Filter Tool. 5.) Checked "none". 6.) Found an imported CAD file in the list, checked the box next to it, and deleted it.
Thanks!

In my case this problem was related to the imported dwg file as well. If you go to the Visibilty/graphics overrides, then choose imported categories, uncheck visibility for all imported layers and things return to normal.

Check to see what the DETAIL LEVEL of the elevation having an issue.
If the detail level is set to MEDIUM or HIGH, change it to COARSE.
