I'm rendering a building that is completely black and when I start to render it turns out to look like chrome and is really reflective and when I go back to the material's property it says the object is black not chrome. Need help don't know how this all of a sudden doesn't work.

Sounds like you are looking at the shaded appearance and not the rendering appearance in the material dialog. Ensure you are on the correct tab. If so, try changing the black to be less glossy - ie: set it to be matt.

Thanks for the help but I was looking at the render apperance and still for some reason it keeps rendering as chrome or something and thats also after I just changed the material to a matt black. I will post a image of what it used to render as and what it renders as now. Black is the old image. Chrome is the current render that it dosen't change from. Everything that rendered as a greyish chrome is supposed to be black.

are you sure that the material behind your laticework is still "paint 5", and hasn't accidentally changed?

Yes if it is actually using that material then it shouldn't be rendering like that. Which indicates that its either been painted with a different material or is using another material all together, or there is a phase filter in the view that is overridding the material...
