Hi all,

I've been asked by one of my clients if it is at all possible to create a recording of the work as it is being modelled, basically he wants me to create a test piece and record all of my actions so that it can be sped up and  placed on their website, kind of as a nice visual movie showing how we do what we do. I'm guessing Revit doesn't have a record button so does anyone have any other suggestions.

Just to mention I know ZBrush has a record function which records every click of the mouse and ties them all together without having to speed up the video, scarily it makes around 5 hours work look like it took about 2 or 3 minutes. I know it has no functionality in the real world, but would be a great plugin for people wanting to demonstrate their work, just as people do in Zbrush (there are thousands of videos on Youtube of people modeling and talking over exactly how they did it)

Thanks all for any suggestions.

I asked about this a few months ago, go to this link for the answers. Jing was an easy free download but I couldn't save or export into anything useful. I ended up using a trial version of Camtasia which can save to an MP4 file.

That's a very interesting idea.  I'm sure that'd make a really interesting video... I'm just concerned it would betray how much time I spend on the internet instead.

Cheers fella, I'll have a look at Camtasia.

Here's an example of how Zbrush record http://youtu.be/lt_CvZlNNzA  (They have a record button within their program that make these for you, no external programs needed) maybe one day revit will do something similar Winking
