Hi all,

I've installed the STL exporter for revit, with the purpose of producing files for 3D printing.

The model sems to convert perfectly except that it doesn't export the materials with the model. Is there a way of doing this (I have tried exporting to FBX then to Max Design and then STL from there and still have the same issue)

Please help all I need to resolve this fairly sharpish Winking

I think that is intentional since the 3D printer won't print the materials. They come out in one solid material which I've seen tinted but not like your thinking. This link shows some good examples of the typical output:

We've got access to a 3D printer that prints colour onto the powder (I think, either that or it dies the powder before bonding), we've seen a few models that have been coloured, it's not fantastic colouring but it looks a little more effective than just white. one of my colleagues also has an STL file which was created in Geomagic of Stone Henge and a few others that have full colour, from which the printer can replicate.

Just need to work out how to transfer my Revit materials to the STL file so that I can get a similar output as to what can be created in geomagic.
