Hello,

I'm having problems in creating a walkthrough in revit 2012. My cadstation is an i7 with 12GB mem and win 7 64bit home premium. When I created the export from the walkthrough they are unreadable in other media players. For example windows mediaplayer or VLC. I can see them in virtual dub but it does mention a fault in the movie.  I can't convert them into other formats like mpeg or swf because the converter (NCH prism) can't recognize the video format. I'm using the lagarith lossless codec. It is 64 bit compatible. Other codecs that are standard available in revit didn't solve the problem either. The movies I'm making have a field view of 448 cm wide. They are about 3000 frames with approx. 20 frames a second. The files are about 1,3 GB.I'm using realistic view with edges.

Does anyone has an idea what is going wrong. Or has someone an advice about a working system on a 64 bit pc ? Maybe i could solve the problem with a convenient codec.

My best suggestion is to save the walkthrough as an uncompressed AVI. This'll be 2-4 gigs, and basically unplayable.

I would then bring it into Windows Movie Maker, which is free.  You may have to download it.

Import the avi, and hit "save as" and then save it with high quality compression for local playback.  It won't axe the crispness but should take it down to a fraction of the original filesize.   And it'll be very compatible.
