This may be a stupid question but...

I about to start documentation on a relatively large existing building that has a lot of repeating configurations. Think hotel.

Is there a way to:

A. Create a repeating typical suite, complete with walls, doors, windows, cielings, fixtures, LINES (model and/or detail lines), etc. and then either array it or place it as instances?

B. Once I've created a wing of the facility which will be composed of unique elements and several different repeating suites is it possible to copy the entire wing to another location withing the same file?

The objective would be to create suite types, copy them about and create the "wing". Then if there's a change to a suite all instances and all wings where they are used would be updated. Perhaps this needs to be done through linking with each suite as a suite-X.rvt file linked to the wing-X.rvt which is in-turn linked into a primary project.rvt file?

Advice is much appreciated.

Zak

The answers are all yes.

Read about groups in your Help and tutorials.  Also how to copy / paste.
