Hi, Can anyone tell me how would you modify a family from face-based or hosted to one that is not? I understood that it is not possible to change face-based or hosted families to non-faced-based or hosted and that you would have to create a new non-hosted or face-based family using non-face-based or non-hosted templates. This is an exercise in the Revit Architecture 2012 Essentials book, page 195. I have attached a jpg with the specific question.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Peter

As far as I know you cannot convert from one family type to another. The only thing I have ever done regarding this is to either redraw the family, or in some rare cases I can nest one type into another and get it to work.
