I have created a wall sweep along the lines of what i want, but how do I give the new sweep a brick pattern similar to the pattern on the wall?? ??

PS the sweep will only modify the returns at 3 of the 4 ends!! strange.

When you create the sweep, assign the material in the type settings - see attached:

You can adjust the ends of the sweep.  If you want sweeps to join  around corners, do them together, not in separate sweep sessions.

Thanks a lot

That worked really well. As for the return part of the query, my intention for return was for a return at the end of a wall, (actually at the top of a column) not where a wall returns around a corner & continues as another wall in its own right.

So here is what i did for the present. I have a 270mm brick wall & i want the cols to show a brick detail (corbel), so I made a 110mm wall as a column (4 sides) then attached my 3 brick course detail to each side at the height of my openings so that it returns around all 4 corners. Probably what you would have done anyhow, but I worked it out for myself. I understand the brickwork intimately it is just telling the software that's the challenge.
