I made a fireplace as a wall based specialy equipment family. When I place it in my model the fireplace does not get cut through on any of the plan views. The rest of the drawing is cut at an elevation of four feet yet the fireplace looks like it is seen from a cut at 20 feet. Any ideas why or how to fix. Chuck

FAQ... Some family categories don't get cut. These can be identified in your visibilty settings in a project. Items with cut line style greyed out in this list don't cut. You can easily change the family category of the family by opening it and going to settings-Family Category & Parameters and selecting a different category from the list that will cut.

We've been having similar issues with nested families. In our case we've resolved by ensuring that in the Ref. Level the view range is set to cut where we want the geomtery cut, and it seems to come through OK.
