hI, I get in trouble with my constrains Smile

I draw a 4 sided shape: one side is an arc, other 3 are straight and perpendicular. (Arc is the bottom).

Then I dimension and constrain the sides.

The idea is that if I move the top up and down then the rest of the shape follows (because the dimensions of the sides that constrain the top and bottom are constrained).

However when I attempt to move the top or the bottom, it doesn't work.

(This is part of an exercise from a book. When I did it first time this part worked easy, but I messed up on other tasks. now that I figured out how to do the rest of the exercise I can't manage the constrains Sad. Perhaps I messed up a setting somewhere. It is tough to be a newbie Sad)

Thank you

Denn15

those two locks are the constraints- click on them and unlock them and there won't be no constraints.. or if you click on that "remove constraints" button- that will unlock them for you..

for me the point is to keep the constrains, so that the whole shape moves when I move only the top.

(The whole idea was to glue the top piece to a level mark, so when the level mark moves, the shape moves with it (the shape is being part of revolve void that was cutting multiple walls. To keep my question simple, I dropped the unrelated info from my original question.)

Perhaps I'm not being very clear about my problem.

My problem is that after I constrain the sides, moving the top - gives me a mistake! - it breaks the constrains!

(mistake text is in the image)

attaching the top line to a level is no problem.
