I have been having alot of problems with the way my walls join (or in this case dont). What is causing the gap between the perpindicular wall and the horizontal wall? How can i fix this? No wrapping of material/finish is set.

Have you tried right clicking the end grip and selecting 'disallow join', then reconnecting it?

Looks to me like maybe your layer functions aren't set correctly. Even in the other wall connection you show, the outer layer of drywall goes right through, the stud layer should join. Make sure your core is set to structure and the drywall set to finish.

There is a bit more to this.  Read this topic in your help: Applying a Function to a Layer of a Compound Structure

It is better described there than we can here.
