Hello, I need some advice. I need more power for rendering animations for clients - not necessarily in real time with the clients sitting there, but I'd like to reduce the amount of time it takes to crunch out the walkthroughs. I have an opportunity to get an HP workstation, an HP Z200. This has an Intel core i3 540, 3.06 Mhz and Windows 7 64 bit. I have read the requirements for Revit 2012 64 bit, and I see it indicates a need for an i5 quad core for 64 bit Revit. Is the i3 a deal breaker? I'm intending to have 8gb of RAM and either an Nvidia Quadro 600 or 2000 graphics card installed. This system is way better than what I have, and with my current system I can make the animations, but it takes a long, long while (and it just feels cumbersome and unwieldy).
Thanks for any advice on this. I'm a one person office (just have a good sized project right now) and my budget is limited. Is the i3 just inadequate?
Thanks!
Deb
