i've searched the forum, cannot find anyone with this same scenario... so here goes...

Structure 2011

Central file has one arch revit file linked in.  Yesterday 4 users were working on their local copies. One tried to save and got the message that the central file no longer existed (sorry, i don't remember the exact wording). i opened the explorer, and sure enough - NO files, no backup, no old file- there were no files at all. our central file and the arch's link file were gone.

we recreated a central off the person with the most recent save.

3 hours later - the same thing happened again.

has anyone experienced this??  can anyone offer any avenues down which we may look?

as usual, it's a huge project with tight deadlines - my heart cannot handle disappearing files!

thanks much,

gayle

If the central ...AND its backup folder disappeared, then this IS NOT a revit issue!  Look to your staff or your network as the cause of your problems.

I wish you luck.... someone needs to 'fess up.

we suspect one of our newbies inadvertantly did it (twice!! yikes!)

even so, i preferred some thing like that as opposed to a dying server or a file corruption or anything other than human error.

the files have been fine as frog's hair ever since Smile
