I don't know why I cannot connect the beam at the column. There always comes a gap of some centimeter between them. I Cannot give the beam a lenght equal to the distance between the two columns. Align doesn't works.....

This is to allow for a joint to occur.
You can get around it by tab selecting the end faces (shape handle) and then drag them to the phase. This allows you to override the join.

Thanks for the tip. I've been struggling with beams since day one. Finally a tip from 2005 that sorts this out. If you select the end of a beam you can toggle (tab) between Reference and Shape Handle. You can align/move a shape handle to stretch the beam. Sometimes I overlook the basics. Thanks again Mr. Spot.
