We created a project in Revit several years ago on an older version of the program Crying2006). The project has been on the shelf since 2007 but are now working on it again. When we re-opened the project recently for the first time in several years we had to go through the one-time upgrade (we are currently using Revit 2011). The model is still in tact, however, none of the sheet files are accessible. When I try to open a sheet I receive the following display error: "An error has occurred while drawing the contents of this window. This window shall be closed." I hit OK, the window closes, and I can return to the model.

Any thoughts on how to get our sheet layouts back?

It sounds like the file did not upgrade properly.  You may have to have AutoDESK upgrade the original file.

Will AutoDesk do that?

I tried the following 2 approaches and neither worked:

1. I converted the original file to 2009 and the sheets were intact; however, when I converted from 2009 to 2010 I received the same message described in my initial post. The hope was that upgrading one version at a time would prevent the error.

2. In my current model (the file that I upgraded to 2011 from the original file) I attempted to create new sheets. If this were to work then I would simply layout new sheets to match the original hardcopies, however, it did not. Each time I tried to create a new sheet I received the exact same error.

Thoughts?
