There is no seperate forum for the different Revit issue dates.

Are you doing a profile?

Did you assign the profile to the correct use in the profile family?

I don't remember if I tried to model in place from a section view so I didn't know you can't.  Ooops - just checked and I can.....you must have a different issue.

You are trying to model a sweep, this requires that you first provide a path for the sweep. Generally this is done in the plan or sometimes elevation view. The first leg of the path at it's center will be the location of the model in place section detail, if your section is looking anywhere else but at this point you will not see it. Then you model your flashing what ever, and assign a material to it and finish the sweep.
