Hello i've been busting my head into the wall with revit all day and i hope you can end my misrey. When i want to create new generic annotion family and put shred parameters in a label so that i can the schedule it's parameters in the project, Shared parameter option ir greyed out and not avalble for selcting. Am i doing smth wrong here or what?

i need to make a symbol(number) that would be in site plan with numbers over the buildings and other objects/places and those number would comtain info about the object so that i could make schedule where there would be Obj Nr. Name etc.

I hope i  explaned myself enougth for you to understand what i want Smile

You will need a tag, not a symbol. A symbol is just 'dumb' annotation, it can't read any information. A tag is hosted on an element and can display information about the element.

I need it to be dumb anotation that contains the info that i put in it and i need  that info that i typed in to be able to put in schedule.

how can  you make a tag for the shole building and the same tad that would mark parking lot and some other objects that are not buildings......Tags have to have objects to be hosted to and those tags read only one type of objects.... that's not what i need.

You can make a tag for any revit family category, including site items.  Just look in your annotations library and under site, you will find planting tags.  So create a family (could be an invisible family) that is placed with your buildings and contains the needed data.... and create a tag to tag it.

hmmm.....invisibile family eh? that's one way to do it. And probobly that will be the path that i will take IF i won't be able to do what i want to do cause that makes more sence to me cause it should be a lot faster and easyer, BUT i cannot get it to wokr. SO again i am askin is it possible to make a dumb anotation (witch is basicaly a text, a number) that has info nested inside that could be read of ir in schedules? when i make anotation family i can pu only family parameters and i don't think u can schedule them, as far as i can see you can schedule only shared parameters. but u cannot place shared parameters inside annotation label. is it impossible or am i missing smth here ?

I use IDF's all the time to carry tage information so I know they work.  You have to use shared parameters in the IDF in order to tag them - and you must assign the family to a category.
