hello. so i have a simple question (i hope) about leader line problems I am having. So I have created a keynote tag with a couple different border shapes. see attachment one.

The problem is I want a hex and a rectangle to be selectable in the same family so I only have one keynote family. As you can see the rectangle is pushed to the left side of the hex currently. this allows a nice leader to start from th eleft side of the hex and rectangle when used. The problem is when I have a leader off the right side of the tag there is a huge space becasue it still sees the rectangle lines as drawing extents of the tag. Is there a way or setting that will fix this?

I have tried everything I can think of to no avail and I am beginning to wonder if this is just a Revit nuisance and impossibilty at the moment and that I should create two seperate keynote tag families to achive what I need.

Thanks

Unfortunately, Revit 'sees' all the objects in the family when looking for extents, even when they are invisible. It's something you'll either have to work with (can you adjust the sizes of the hex/rectangles? I've found that you can still have a slight gap visible on screen but if it's small enough it won't print), or create multiple families.

i actually just figured it out. I created a parameter label for "BOX WIDTH" and made it a type parameter. Now I can have my different types and control that functionality by making the entire boundary a particular size. see screen:

That never really occured to me, but yeah, that would work great. I'll have to keep that in mind.

Doesn't look like it, but you've explained yourself well enough.
