Dear all, I'm very stuck with the following: Over here in Belgium we need exact description and data of the different wall-types inside a compound wall. I've seen similar posts on Augi, where someone is asking how much plaster is needed for the wall finishes. This can indeed easily be solved by multiplying the surface with the thickness of the plaster, although this is not exact! Interior and extrior perimeters can differ quite a lot, defenitely on larger projects with complex wall-structures. To calculate the volume of a wall-compound that takes more than 25% of the wall with the just mentioned method is too inaccurate. Any of you people now how to solve this? It seems so weird to me that Revit has no ways of getting this information into shedules. It must know the exact volume though, since sections and section-boxes show perfectly the different, joined, wall-components. Many regards already! Post edited on 2005-12-02 04:40:41

Unfortunately the only way to get the area of a particular wall layer would be to model it as a separate wall. Revit as yet, doesn't intepret the differences in the layers with regard to areas. A wishlist item...
