I keep trying to load a component and it is saying that it cannot.  I get about 17 error messages, but it does not explain.  Here is the family i am trying to load.  someone please see if you're having problems too.

Sorry, but we need more information.

You do mean load into a Revit project?

Can you edit the family?

Revit will give you a can not load error message sometimes when you are not in athe proper window.  Are you working in a view?  ... not just looking at a view but in it...

I created the family myself.  It is rather large. apparently more than 2mb, so i cannot load it here.  i am in the floorplan view, where i load all of my components...i have just come across another item that will not load, but i changed some parameters before i tried loading. perhaps that might have something to do with it? i did however, resave it with a different name...in a different place...still no success.

That is a huge family for this type of component....

Did you fully test ...flex the family?

Was another version of this family already in the project?  If so, delete it first because its setting may not be working with your modifications.

Also... If you have nested families... make sure you don't have a conflict with families of the same type that are already in the project.

I'm sorry. I am new to Revit Families.  What do you mean my FLEX and NESTED? And no, there were no others like this one in the project.

By far the easiest way to load a family into a project you've made, is to have both the family, and the project open at the same time.

Then, under the "home" tab of your family, on the far right side is a button called "load into project."  This will push it right into your project, and is kind of nifty.  If you have multiple families and/or projects open, hitting this button will bring up a list of check boxes asking which families/projects you want to load your family into.

What's probably happening is that you're trying to load the family from a category that your family is not.  For example, if you go to structure-->column-->Load Family, the *icon* looks the same, but revit is in the mindset that you're trying to load in a structural column.  If you're trying to load a door, but it's looking for a column, it'll give you an error when it seems that your door is not in the structural column category.

This gets a lot of people.

The best way to load in families that are saved on your computer or network is to go the the Insert tab.  And load family there.  Same icon as if you'd browsed to a specific category and try the button there, except in the insert tab, it doesn't have any presuppositions about what category the family will be in, and just loads it and places it accordingly.

Hope that helps.

It is now starting to say this for other families as well.. It states, "Cannot load family "(Name of Family)" as specified, when I click expand it just says Error.  Not sure what this means.  I have tried loading it into the project, inserting a family and inserting a component.

Here is a smaller file that is giving me the same issue as the eyeswash & shower center.
