Does anyone know how to transfer the mass from mass family into generic (normal) family? I need to model a complex shape and the only one known way is to model it as a mass. Then I will need to use this shape in the family. I can easily load the family into the project and model tha roof by fase etc. How can I load it into the family?

I don't understand why this cam't be modeled in a family initially if it should be a family.  I think most people over use masses. 

BTW ... Families started in a generic template can be assigned to their proper family category, they don't have to stay in the Generic category.
