I have a 1st floor plan with about 800 rooms and I am working off an imported CAD file.  To get a room/area schedule, I outlined all the imported walls with room boundary lines, which went very quickly.  I then tagged all of the rooms, which also went very quickly.  The problem is, if I missed a room bounding line or two and have to draw it in after I've started inserting rooms, Revit 2011 starts running REALLLLYYY SLOWLYYYY while it recalculates the new room volumes.  I don't have any other views open; I tried turning off the visibility of rooms in the view.  Nothing helps.  Anyone have any idea?

Are your area cals set to calc area only and not volumn?

Yeah, it's set to calculate only areas.

It's weird because it is quick doing the boundary lines before any rooms are placed, but as soon as I have placed a room, putting in boundary lines goes much slower.  Is there any way to turn off room area calculation temporarily?
