Can you save a family or project down from 2010 to 2009. I know there was an issue with 2008, and 2009, but I am curious if you can do this with 2010 an 2009.

Thanks

Revit, from the very beginning before it was owned by AutoDESK, has never been set up to save backwards.  THIS IS VERY WELL DOCUMENTED.  This allows the program code to be flexible and not have to honor old thoughts.

Revit is always +1. What ever version your in you can take it to the next one. you can never go backwards.

I DO wish autodesk, or some 3rd party would offer--even with disclaimers galore and no guarantees--an application to downgrade a file.

Discard whatever is no longer compatible--but objects like walls and windows--we all know these have not fundamentally changed in a long time.

Even a downgrade with some losses and damage to the model would be appreciated by a lot of people.  This doesn't seem unreasonable.  I still feel that the absolutely inability to downgrade is mostly a subscription-pushing move.
